The Values and Ethics Code for the Public Service sets forth the values and ethics of public service to guide and support public servants in all their professional activities. It will serve to maintain and enhance public confidence in the integrity of the Public Service.
This course is intended for people employed in the public sector. People credited with this course are able to apply ethical standards to their own work roles and to identify breaches of ethical standards in the workplace.
Learners will be able to:
- Explain the core ethical values and standards which apply to the public sector.
- Outline ethical values and standards contained in legislation and codes which have relevance to the conduct of employees in the public sector.
- Describe areas of ethical conflict for public sector employees.
- Explain the importance of ethical values and standards in relation to the public sector.
